The Agatha Christie Hour – EP10 - The Manhood of Edward Robinson (Tuesday 16th November 1982) (45:21 min.) This is a Propered version of this video. Original version was upped by Connal. A big thanks to Connal for the video and the detailed information about the show. This is a compressed version of the original posted video, seen here (details below): http://thebox.bz/details.php?id=40613 Hand-waving mumbo jumbo: (a) Converted both .vob files to high quality .avi files (b) Joined the .avi files into one file (c) Used Virtual Dub to compress the file 2:1, and also shaved off some of the border fuzziness and some spurious frames. Compressed with Divx to give a file roughly 350 MB. (d) Used Waveform to boost the sound and reduce hiss and re-interleaved. I don't know a lot of the technical details, but the product looks OK. I have also included a preview file (about 1 minute) if you are wondering about the quality. I seed at 40 kB/s, and I will dedicate my seeding only to this feature. I appreciate any constructive comments, Cheers. AVI File Details ======================================== Name.........: The Manhood of Edward Robinson.avi Filesize.....: 343 MB (or 352,037 KB or 360,486,762 bytes) Runtime......: 00:46:31 (69,772 fr) Video Codec..: DivX 5.0 Video Bitrate: 1003 kb/s Audio Codec..: 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-2 Layer 3 Audio Bitrate: 24 kb/s, monophonic CBR Frame Size...: 456x340 (1.34:1) [~39:29] Copied from the original post http://thebox.bz/details.php?id=40613 http://images.tvrage.net/shows/6/5552.jpg The Agatha Christie Hour – EP10 - The Manhood of Edward Robinson (Tuesday 16th November 1982) (45:21 min.) The Agatha Christie Hour was a ten episode program, based on ten short stories written by Agatha Christie, and it dealt with widely diverging themes. Some of the stories were romances, and these were fairly wide ranging, covering juvenile romance and also more mature romance was introduced into a couple of the stories; several of the stories dealt with the supernatural, and a couple were charmingly light-hearted youthful adventures. The Agatha Hour was set in the England of the nineteen twenties and thirties, and much care was taken to present it as authentically as possible, with great attention to detail. It featured many of Britain's best actors. Episode Notes Adapted from a short story in 'The Listerdale Mystery' by Agatha Christie. Romantic dreamer and aspiring stockbroker Edward Robinson is engaged to practical and prosaic Maud Lithinglow. When he wins five hundred pounds in a competition he secretly purchases his heart's delight, a white Riley sportscar. At Christmas time he motors alone down to Brighton where he meets Lady Noreen Elliot, who is similarly engaged to an unadventurous partner. For one glorious, heady evening Edward mixes it with the Bright Young People, becoming involved in the theft of a priceless diamond necklace and dancing at The Cafe de Paris with Lady Noreen. In the course of one evening Edward becomes a man, instead of a mouse, and when morning arrives it is a different Edward who confronts Maud with his new car, expensive engagement ring and marriage plans.
