The projects are very beautiful, from top star designers such as Lily Chin and Christine Ohmdahl, clear instructions, and every now and then a chapter on technique: back to basics or beyond basics. So if you've always wanted a how-to for foundation stitches or the "magic ring", here you will find it. \n
The document is a .pdf, but it doesn't look like a scanned book. There are hardly any margins, no page numbers (although there are references to them in the text) and, most puzzlingly, no layout to speak of. A chapter heading might be at the bottom of a page, a page might end at the middle of the next and a greyish space under it and so on. Not a big deal, of course, the book is very readable. just looks very odd and makes one wonder. If it were shorter, I'd be tempted to fix it (with Acrobat Pro), but at 253 pages, no thanks!\n
Ah, another thing. This document has links. Internal links (as in "look up this stitch at the stitch guide", which takes you some pages down). And, at some point, external links (not to worry, they are to the interweave website). The reader is asked to download the diagrams for the Dragonfly Shawl, the Boteh Scarf the Stone Path Hat, the Sólás Caomh, Babette Blanket . Be sure to do so, otherwise the book is incomplete. \n
There are other links as well (to designers' sites and blogs). Which confirms my idea that the .pdf is not the scan of an actual book but a digital document. Made by whom, one wonders, and why those strangely made pages.
