Plot :

17-year-old Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron) is talking to an investigator for the NCAA.

Flashback: Michael has been in foster care with different families, largely because of his mother's drug addiction, throughout Memphis, Tennessee. Every time he is placed in a new home, he runs away. His friend's father, on whose couch Mike had been sleeping, asks Burt Cotton (Ray McKinnon), the coach of Wingate Christian school, to help enroll his son and Mike. Impressed by Mike's size and athleticism, Cotton gets him admitted despite his abysmal academic record. At his new school, Michael is befriended by a boy named Sean Jr. "SJ" (Jae Head). SJ's mother Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) is a strong-minded interior designer and the wife of wealthy businessman Sean Tuohy (Tim McGraw).

One night, Leigh Anne notices Michael walking on the road, shivering in the cold; when she learns he intends to spend the night huddled outside the school gym, she offers him a place to sleep at her house. The next morning, when she sees Michael leaving, she asks him to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with her family. Slowly, Michael becomes a member of...

Trama :

Il film racconta la storia vera di Michael Oher, famoso giocatore di football americano nel ruolo di giocatore di linea d'attacco. Il titolo del film, The Blind Side, fa riferimento proprio a questo ruolo. Il compito del lineman infatti, è quello di proteggere il quarterback dai placcaggi degli avversari, che cercheranno di bloccarlo attaccandolo proprio dai lati che il quarterback non può vedere (i blind sides appunto). La storia è quella di un diciassettenne senzatetto rimasto orfano di padre e con una madre dipendente dal crack da cui è stato separato ancora piccolo per incuria del ragazzo. Il ragazzo è ospite per qualche tempo dal padre di un suo amico, il quale però non sarà fortunato quanto Michael e morirà anni dopo durante una sparatoria nel quartiere malfamato da cui proveniva. Nonostante i problemi economici, il presunto scarso quoziente intellettivo e la bassissima estrazione sociale di provenienza, il ragazzo riesce ad iscriversi a scuola grazie...

Note personali :

BD estero di ottima fattura, film a 16/9 pieno come piacciono a me e che me lo posso godere a tutto schermo :-)
L'audio italiano proviene da DVD9 PAL, idem per i cartelli ita (rieditati e ritaimati a dovere), subbo ita n.u. e già che c'ero ho fatto pure l'eng n.u. che e' lievemente differente dall'eng n.u. presente sul BD estero.
Per i sottotitoli italiani, non presenti sul DVD9 PAL e manco sul Blu Ray estero, beh...abbiamo doppia scelta:
Itasa e Subsfactory li hanno curati per noi ai tempi dell'uscita del film. Dovevo scegliere quale sottotitolo utilizzare per il film e nel dubbio...li ho messi entrambi. :-)
Che dire del film? Un vero capolavoro!!! Drammatico, dolce, da lacrime, cast fantastico, fotografia accattivante, musiche azzeccate, regia ottima (complimenti Hancock, gran film) , consigliato a tutti di cuore.
Film che dura piu' di due ore, ma vi assicuro che non si sentono minimamente...scorre che è un piacere.
