Zwariowana komedia muzyczna. Jake Blues wychodzi z więzienia i wraz z bratem Elwoodem Bluesem otrzymują misję od Boga - uratować sierociniec w którym się wychowali. Żeby zarobić pieniądze decydują się reaktywować swój stary zespół i dać koncert. Niestety coś co łatwo brzmi, jest dość trudne do wykonania, zwłaszcza gdy ma się na karku byłą narzyczoną, nazistów z Illinois, policję czy muzyków country. Film ponadto ma także doskonałą obsadę drugo i trzecio planową. Występują tu gwiazdy muzyczne: John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles czy James Brown, ale także Carrie Fisher czy w końcówce sam Stephen Spielberg.
