One result was a plethora of grimoires full of conjurations and charms designed to reveal and recover treasure. This seventeenth-century grimore, a long-ignored manuscript in the British Library associated with the Goetic tradition, discusses spirits, old gods, demons and fairies connected to the magical search for treasure troves.
