Description
.:Description:.
Where do we start? The year is 1962 and the cold war between America and Russia is at its finest. John Fitzgerald Kennedy is the current President of the United States and the nation is about to unleash a nuclear war against its arch-enemy if only the latter dare to do some further military move. In this scenario, high voltage and critic, America has set up a secret organization known only to the President and to a military Council and particularly restricted, the scientific Bureau of Strategic Emergency Command. The task of this secret force is to act as a first line of defense in case Russia decides suddenly to invade the territory in stars and stripes, and at the same time to protect the people from information leaks that could create mass panic or even outright revolts. A top secret review within this background narrative, the player wears the role of William Carter, a former CIA agent who has made a reputation by intervening personally in some dramatic events of recent American history and which has now been recruited by the Bureau to train and guide assault Squadron specializing in adverse situations and disadvantageous. William has a stormy past and a dependence on alcohol that is attempting to defeat, stemming from the sudden death of his wife and daughter during an accidental fire in his house while he was away from his homeland to a secret undercover mission. The game opens with an unexpected and bloody alien attack which will force Carter and a small handful of scientific and military forces to take refuge in a secret base that instantly becomes the operative Centre of the newborn XCOM. If the beginning is now extremely interesting and engaging, but we must cool off tempers because, no matter how well written and rich with many dialogues and glossary, soon the story loses bite becoming rather obvious and definitely call in the (few) twists. A top secret review is surely to appreciate the evolution narrative that concludes, among other things, with a couple of detours on the subject, but maybe we would have expected something more from a title with a background so voluminous that boils down to military intervention discussions with some scientific and moral wanderings between characters whose personality seems to be outlined with the accept and whose psychological thickness is practically bare-bones. And among other things is a great pity that the references to the classic titles of the series (or the recent remake) are virtually non-existent in terms of plot. By dissecting however some numbers regarding fiction, the game was ended by those who write in precise twelve hours according to the counter inside the game, using the third of the four difficulty levels and doing all the quests available in the game, both compulsory and optional ones. Through a map of the United States, present in the main hall of the secret base, we will be able to choose to play the main ones in order to pursue the story, or a handful of quests that will be made available with the rest of the plot and that serve to gain experience at Carter and selected allies, or to pick up some new technology. A top secret review Sometimes will also be available some tasks to assign to staff in reserve. It is "automatic" missions where you select agents to send and, once our level, we shall reap the rewards (technology or new higher-level agents). There is no possibility of defeat and, for this reason, we struggle to understand the usefulness of this addition. Instead, more than good our opinion on missions that you can play in first person: I'm about fifteen in total, all of which are fairly long and demanding and with some interesting gameplay deviation. From this point of view we can only speak well of the job done by 2 k Marin to differentiate enough these adventures and we must emphasise that the quests does not disfigure compared to the main if not for a sometimes gaudy recycling locations. .:Technical data sheet of the game:.
