A great documentary about the long struggle of the inhabitants of the island of Bougainville against the huge copper mine of Panguna, run by the mining multinational firm Rio Tinto, and for their independance. Initially fighting the Papua-New-Guinea (PNG) army with mere stones and sticks, they quickly force the mine closed and end up militarily defeating PNG. Confronted to a 7-year blocus, they turn it into an opportunity to regain their autonomy in the course of their lives by cleverly using their deep understanding of their environment.
