Una delle prime vittime di un ridimensionamento aziendale è Bobby Walker, un energico venditore esecutivo che sta vivendo una vita idilliaca, completa con due bambini e una casa con recinto ipotecata. Il suo capo e fondatore della società, non prende il taglio di Bobby bene, e si precipita nella sala del consiglio per chiedere un rinvio del severo provvedimento.
