In reality, these things are always resolved in the 11th hour, but not before the content providers start trying to drag the subscribers into the middle of it. It has become an annoying, repetitious game that seems to be constantly happening now between some carrier and some content provider somewhere.
And they want us to believe that these companies getting bigger and bigger is somehow good for the consumer. Well, here's an example of how it isn't. The less choices there are... the more monopolistic they behave. I presume it will only get worse now that AT&T bought DirecTV, making it an even larger conglomerate. This is what unfettered capitalism looks like.
And they wonder why we do what we do... here's another good reason for it. F*** these companies. Can you tell I have a strong opinion about this?
