THE FOUR WHITE DAYS - FRED MERRICK WHITE (PDF)

Frederick Merrick White (1859-1935) wrote a number of novels and short stories under the name “Fred M. White” including the six ‘Doom of London’ science-fiction stories, in which various catastrophes beset London. These include The Four Days’ Night, in which London is beset by a massive killer smog. Fred M. White published this fictional story in 1903 about London in the grip of a severe 4-day arctic snow-storm, showing the hardships and consequences for which the city was unprepared, including price gouging and angry mobs.
