This is actually a short story by Gregory Benford from the mass market paperbook A.I.s, the short story was the best one in the book. It is a zipfile containing jpg images and can be read by any comic book reader. No OCR step was done. It's a very good story and doesn't seem to be available anywhere online. Enjoy!
