Een douanebeambte, Marcus Ashton (Ash) wordt aangenomen om bij een nieuwe
rechtshandhaving team. Een geheime undercoverorganisatie die de allergrootste
criminelen van Groot-Brittannië probeert te pakken. O.T. Fagbenle speelt het
nieuwe teamlid Ash, een workaholic met veel kennis van de straat. Zijn vrouw
Lorna maakt zich zorgen en is bang dat Ash te veel risico’s neemt. In de eerste
aflevering infiltreert The Unit in een grote drugsbende.

Special Agent Marcus "Ash" Ashton, a HM Revenue and Customs agent and his
partner Tommy capture a drugs shipper in an operation at London Waterloo station.
Whilst his boss is happy with a conviction of 3Kgs of cocaine, Ash wants a larger
criminal. During the subsequent operation, Tommy is severely injured in a
resultant car accident, and Ash is then suspended. Subsequently approached in a
pub by Cartwright, the head of top-secret UNIT, on first entering UNIT's HQ he
meets a familiar face, his Customs training officer Valerie.
