Description

The Killers är en amerikansk musikgrupp från Las Vegas, Nevada, bildad 2002. Deras musik har placerats i genren indierock.
Bandet släppte sitt debutalbum Hot Fuss 2004. Det placerade sig på första plats på topplistan i Storbritannien. Det sålde även 4 x platinum i Storbritannien och 3 x platinum i USA. Uppföljaren till Hot Fuss, albumet Sam's Town släpptes 3 oktober 2006. Den 13 november 2007 släpptes deras B-sidealbum Sawdust.
The Killers framträdde på Londonscenen under Live 8-konserten 2 juli 2005, där de framförde låten "All These Things That I've Done". Robbie Williams, som framträdde efter dem, använde refrängen "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" i sitt eget framträdande. Även Coldplay och U2 har använt refrängen under sina konserter, Coldplay i "God Put a Smile upon Your Face" och U2 i "Beautiful Day".
The Killers har även gästspelat i tv-serien OC under säsong 2 med låtarna "Mr. Brightside", "Smile Like You Mean It" och "Everything Will Be Alright" i avsnittet The New Era.
Enligt egen utsago tog The Killers sitt namn från trumsetet i det fiktiva bandet i New Orders musikvideo till låten "Crystal". Musikvideon till deras låt "Somebody Told Me" är också mycket lik just denna video.
2008 spelade The Killers låten Human på MTV European Music Award. Låten blev nummer 6 på Trackslistans årslista för 2008.
Den 20 januari 2009 bekräftades det att The Killers kommer göra en spelning på Hultsfredsfestivalen i juli 2009.
