Korra seeks to master the final element, Air. Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern "Avatar" world, Republic City - a metropolis that is
fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that
Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang's son, Tenzin,
Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large

Korra and the gang are in a hobo town with Gommu. Korra and Mako have come back from doing reconnaissance. Asami is starting to get jealous of all
of the time that Mako and Korra have been spending together. General Iroh's fleet of ships are attacked by Equalist airplanes. An intense fight ensues,
but Iroh gets knocked off the ship. Only to be saved by Korra. She takes him back to the hideout where he they send word to General Bumi
(Aang and Katara's other son and one of the United Forces generals) to redirect the enforcements to an island. Iroh then proceeds to tell the gang that
they should escape and wait for Bumi. Korra refuses, saying she is tired of running, Mako joins her. Iroh, Asami, Bolin, Naga, and Pabu leave for the island.
While Korra and Mako impersonate Chi Blockers and go to Air Temple Island. Where Amon's second-in-command tells them that they are not allowed on the
island and should go to the rally in the Pro-Bending Arena. Korra shows Mako another way into the Temple, where they plan to hide in the attic and ambush Amon.
When they reach there they are surprised to see Tarlok imprisoned in the attic. They talk to him and truly learn who Amon is, Tarlok's brother.
He then proceeds to tell them the story of the two of them. Yakone, (their father, last seen in 'Out of the Past') after escaping had extensive surgery to
alter his appearance. He moved to the Water Tribe and married a nice woman. They had two children, Tarlok and Noatak (Amon). He tells them that Yakone,
sans bending, taught them to water bend, and blood bend, in hopes of turning them into tools of revenge against the Avatar whom he sees as the cause for
all his problems. Noatak took the knack for and turned into a prodigy, while Tarlok did not enjoy the task. When Yakone threatens to hit Tarlok,
Noatak steps in to save his brother. Then Noatak tells Tarlok they should run away, Tarlok refuses and Noatak leaves without him. Yakone and Tarlok return
thinking Noatak is dead. After Korra and Mako hear this they realize they finally have the leg up on Amon, they know he is a bender, the one thing his
entire support base hates. They plan to reveal him at the rally.
