The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess Full Soundtrack rip (sound effects free) (Size: 495.69 MB)
Description
Game: "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess"
Company: Nintendo Year: 2006 Composers: Toru Minegishi, Asuka Ohta, Koji Kondo, Mahito Yokota Number of tracks: 226 (Duration: 6:15:52) Note from the ripper: ===================== This rip is completely free of sound effects and has all the tracks recorded from their beginning (not using crappy fade-in techniques or cutting the first few cues off). If you think there are still SFX in some of the tracks (e.g. the start trumpet in "Herd Game" and the ambient sounds in "Goron Mines"): Those are part of the tracks, can and should not be disabled. Giving the tracks titles was a lot of fun, as all the MIDI files have their individual file and production names. I used those in conjunction with in-game quotes, the official guide from Nintendo Power and the track naming scheme on previous Zelda OSTs in order to provide the most official track titles. So before you start bitching about "Midna in Distress" (called "A Shadow in Their World", "Midna's Desperate Hour" or "Midna's Desperation" in other rips), consider the file name of the track on the disc, which is "Midona SOS". The "Before Battle with" and "After Battle with" naming at the final tracks seems repetitive, but the same was done on the "The Wind Waker" OST. For information on the composer credits, please look up the Wikipedia discussion page for the article "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess". I found the term "field music" too vague to accredit a lot of songs to Minegishi (for example "Hyrule Field Main Theme", it's just too good a composition to be from him...sorry, Mr. Minegishi). Just because you think a track is missing doesn't mean it is not in the rip (e.g. what many refer to as the "Empty Boss Room" theme, I put that to the yeti tune because both file names on the disc have the same name, "Love"). Have you really listened to the complete rip? From beginning to the end? Please do that before requesting missing tracks. There were also duplicate tracks that are included just once in the rip (like the second part of "STAR Tent" that's exactly the same as "Rollgoal"). I'm overly confident I captured any single cue in the game. A small note on the volume: The slight "crackle" you'll hear in some of the tracks (e.g. "Inside Death Mountain", "Horse Grass (Howl)"), especially when you set the treble response of your sound card to 100%, is not the cause of too high recording volume. It's not clipping, that's how the game plays those samples: It sounds the same on your TV, or when you connect the GameCube with your PC via the line-in jack. And if you're not confident with the volume (and it's as good as it gets), just try to increase it even more and enjoy some nice clipping. "Twilight Princess" is a jerkfest for fans of dynamic music. For rippers, it's basically their worst nightmare. Editing on tracks took up to a few hours, for some single tunes. The result is fantastic, however. I have learnt a lot during the editing process and managed to create transitions that won't be noticed by anyone. I found myself always jumping and smiling a little when I managed to cut two dynamic versions of one song together. An important note to all of you - everytime you think to yourself "Whoa, the editing is so noticeable at scene X" (for example "Horse Battle" at 1:34, when a new part of the song kicks in; or in "Hyrule Field Main Theme", the brass just "disappears" at 4:39; or, most blatantly obvious in "Dangoro" at 1:59 and 2:04), it's actually NOT crappy editing but the sound file that plays that way because Nintendo composed it like that (if you don't believe me, play the game and check the scenes). Absolutely ALL of the edits I made to the rips sound 100% natural and are NOT noticeable ("noticeable" editing would mean: clicks, instruments lapping over, too sudden attack noise - as often seen in rips by other people). Bottom line: Anything that sounds unnatural is the cause of EAD's sound department. I can't fix their mistakes. Credits: ======== A whole lot of props go to hcs for the tremendous effort he put into giving technical assistance. That rip would never have been possible without his zerout utility, his providing the source file for "The Legend of Zelda: Orchestra Piece #1" and his *great* Winamp plug-in in_cube. Thank you so much! You should know by now that you give people lots of joy with your work. Thanks to Jackano for ripping "Disc Channel Preview Screen" in lossless form (I don't have a Wii), to Rew for his extensive (yet still incomplete ;9) tracklist, to the person that ripped the Official Soundtrack in lossless form (Basil?) and to Nintendon for his program ndssndext.
