Con fatica e diplomazia, Paul riesce a mettere insieme i migliori elementi del penitenziario. Si avvicina il giorno della partita e mentre lui si impegna a perdere, il direttore si impegna ad essere corretto. Ma è un trucco: infatti, una volta raggiunto un ampio margine di vantaggio nel punteggio, i secondini infieriscono sui giocatori-carcerati. Crewe, offeso, si risveglia e guida una feroce reazione: la partita viene vinta per 36 a 35, mentre molti poliziotti finiscono all'ospedale.
