The Misssionary (1982)

After 10 years of work as a misssionary in Africa,the Rev Charles Fortescue (Michael Palin) is recalled to England
and given a new assignment by the bishop (Denholm Elliot) to minister to the"ladies of the night".Fortescue sets up his
Church of England Mission To Fallen Women with the help of funds from the wealthy Lady Ames (Maggie Smith)but
soon finds that Lady Ames motives are far from philanthropic and that the"fallen women" in his care want more from
him than just spiritual guidance.
