Good quality download from the BBC, but this 90 minute story, set between 1941-47, of an inter-connecting group of lesbians and a mistress to a two-timing married soldier, and her homosexual brother, seems to have needed another ninety minutes (or at least another half hour) to provide a satisfactory conclusion. Indeed some reviewers beforehand thought - as did I - that this was going to be a short two or three or four part series, when it is a one-off. It probably should have been a two-parter, as it loses something that has left it disappointing to watch and not as interesting as you suspect it could have been.
