Synopis:



For some reason, this year's Nobel prize in literature has been awarded to the young author Andrew Craig, who seems to be more interested in women and drinking than writing. Another laureate is Dr. Max Stratman, the famous German-American physicist who comes to Stockholm for the award ceremony with his young and beautiful niece Emily. The Foreign Department also assigns him an assistant during his stay, Miss Andersson. Craig soon notices that Dr. Stratman is acting strangely. The second time they meet, Dr. Stratman does not even recognize him. Craig begins to investigate.

Em Estocolmo, os vencedores Prêmio Nobel se encontram para a cerimônia de premiação. O Nobel de literatura, Andrew Craig (Paul Newman), suspeita de algo quando Max Stratman (Edward G. Robinson), um dos premiados, se comporta de maneira bem diversa ao dia anterior, além de parecer mais alto. Emily (Diane Baker), a sobrinha de Max, diz que não há razão para se preocupar e o mesmo diz a bela Inger Lisa Andersson (Elke Sommer), que foi cedida pelo departamento de relações exteriores para assessorá-lo. Mesmo quando tentam matá-lo ninguém crê nele, mas Andrew tem certeza que algo muito sério está acontecendo e quer descobrir, mas isto pode lhe custar a vida.
