Opis:

An anthropologist goes to Haiti after hearing rumors about a drug used by black magic
practitioners to turn people into zombies.

Dennis Alan, naukowiec z Harvardu, zostaje służbowo wysłany przez firmę farmaceutyczną
na Haiti. Jego misją jest analiza faktów dotyczących legendy zombie i jej ewentualnych
związków z tajemniczą substancją, mogącą mieć zastosowanie jako silnie działający środek
znieczulający nowej generacji. Po przybyciu na miejsce Alan trafia pod opiekę dobrego
kapłana voodoo, tzw. "hungana" oraz jego córki, lekarki z miejscowej przychodni. Jednak
podczas poszukiwań, na drodze badacza staje groźny i bezwzględny "hungan", Dargent Peytraud.
Adaptacja książki Wade'a Davisa, etnografa i botanika, który rzeczywiście poszukiwał
lekarstwa zombie.
