Trama :
Dopo molti anni passati col rimorso, la bella bionda May Munro ( Sharon Stone ) è decisa di vendicarsi per la morte dei genitori. Contatta Ray Quick ( Sylvester Stallone ), oramai un ex agente della CIA, per eseguire la sua vendetta. Inizialmente Ray rifiuta l'incarico, ma allo stesso tempo comincia a seguire, all’insaputa della ragazza, il caso. L'uomo dovrebbe eliminare 3 delinquenti, i quali molti anni prima uccisero i genitori di May ( allora una bambina ) davanti ai suoi occhi.
Dopo essersi convinto Ray accetta l'incarico, e fa sapere alla ragazza che lo porterà a termine. Ray elimina i 3 uomini - Carlos, Strongarm e Thomas ( Eric Roberts ) - senza troppi problemi, grazie a delle cariche di esplosivo, di cui è un grande esperto.
Egli scopre però di essere stato inizialmente aggirato da May: lui era solo una " pedina " di un circolo vizioso che riguardava la ragazza e il terribile Ned Trent ( James Woods ) , coordinatore...
