HighCode, I'm not sure if you're aware, but the Blu-Ray (and all DVDs except for the original non-anamorphic US DVD) for this movie was stretched horizontally. The aspect ratio of the image was supposed to be 1.66:1 (the original theatrical aspect ratio) but it was stretched to 1.78:1. You can tell by looking at any circular objects which seem slightly oval-shaped, and everyone appears to have a fat face because it's too wide.
If you try resizing the image when you encode, I bet you'll find it looks more natural at the proper ratio.
Otherwise, nice job. :)
It seems you don't know what "resize" means. I didn't resize anything (resize from 1920x1080 to 1920x1080? LOL), don't you see that movie has Resolution 1920x1080? You can see the screens comparison. If you think that Blu-ray have fucked up AR write a review @ http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Truman-Show-Blu-ray/1813/
I have a feeling you changed something on your player, you should see this movie full screen on a 16/9 monitor.
Besides according to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120382/ AR is 1.85:1, what makes you think that is supposed to be 1.66:1?
Blu-ray studios never change AR, they crop to get a standard resolution, but never change AR.
Which circular object you saw it oval? Time or frame please, so I can check it.
