By the time the Beatles conquered America in 1964 they really were the most popular band in the world,
at one stage occupying slots 1-5 on the Billboard charts at the same time! Remember too that this was
in the days before MTV and music videos,
the only way that bands had to promote their music was the records, occasaional TV appearances and relentless
touring. Something the Beatles were masters of, some 1400 concerts by 1966, the year they decided they had
had enough. 1966 had been a year of death threats, scary plane flights, ill judged remarks by Lennon and the
band were quite simply tired of the hugeness of it all.
Given the fact that they did tour so much in their prime years there is surprisingly little footage of the boys
on the road, no doubt a case of what went on the tour stayed on the tour, one of the major reasons why this new
BBC Warners release is so welcome is because The Unseen Beatles offers a whole flotilla of rare archive footage,
vintage photographs and interviews with the people who were there with the boys.
Its an amazing story, the Beatles became so disillusioned by the constant touring, people wanting several pieces
of them, girls screaming so loud that they couldn't even hear themselves play that it very nearly pulled the band
apart. With its wealth of wonderful and rare footage this is a great look at the band in its prime, changing the
face of popular music every time they recorded and inventing the modern rock concert along the way
Extras include extended interviews, a great photo gallery and some highly choice moments of the band performing in Jersey.

As most of my work, this documentry is an iso. file so there is no need to convert it,
