When her dad is transferred, Rachel Wood is uprooted from her home in Pennsylvania and forced to enter a new high school, in 10th grade, in an affluent suburb in Westchester, New York. She finds herself in way over her head, as she struggles to come to grips with meeting new friends, finding a boyfriend, avoiding the cliques of mean girls, and figuring out how to survive in such a hostile new world. She has trouble navigating this new world, where drinking and drugs seem the norm, and where social pressures build on her from every direction.
Everything seems to go wrong for Rachel, until salvation comes in the form of Rob, a football player who takes a liking to her. But just as their romance is about to blossom, she finds herself confused by his actions.
As things reach a low point, Rachel meets a mysterious boy from her school, Benji, a loner who keeps apart from the other kids, and who takes her on a ride on his motorcycle. They have an unforgettable night together in an amusement park—until something goes horribly wrong, and Benji shocks her by saving her life.

But problems only escalate for Rachel, as Benji comes back into her life, bringing danger with him. She discovers his world at his ancestral home in the mysterious Lyndvia Castle on the Hudson River. But just as their romance is blossoming, Benji’s twin brother shows up with a message that just might mean the end for all of them. Rachel will have to decide just how much she wants to sacrifice to be with the love of her life.

Rachel searches for answers. She wants to know where she is, how she got there, where Benji is, and what will become of her. She wants to be human again, to go back home, to make this all go away.
But it’s too late.
She meets other vampires in the castle, makes new friends, and begins to learn what it’s like to be a vampire. She learns that she has powers she never imagined possible.
But all that is not enough. She longs for home, for her high school, her friends. And she escapes.
She heads back and sees all of her friends, and fights with her parents, and goes back to school—and tries to settle back into normal life. She even meets up with Rob again, who still has feelings for her, and who invites her to the big Halloween ball.
But normal life is not meant to be for Rachel anymore. She is changing too fast, and she can’t control what’s happening to her body. She comes to realize she is not the same person she once was. After her home is ransacked by an evil coven, her parents kick her out of the house for good, leaving her nowhere to go.
In the meantime, Violet and her people are coming after Rachel, determined to use her to find and kill Benji. Benji is searching for the famed Blue Tablet that might save them all from the coming war. And Rachel, when she learns how in danger Benji is, realizes she has to be by his side. She will stop at nothing to be with him—even if that means having to choose between life and death.

4. Chosen
Rachel Wood wakes after having just taken the leap of faith with Benji with the Blue Tablet. She searches for him, amazed she is still alive, only to find that he did not fare as well: he is mortally injured. And with only days left to live, he needs her help to survive. He needs her to find the ancient Red Amulet, the only element known to be able to heal a vampire.
Rachel embarks on a journey to save her love—a journey which will take her deep into the heart of the gravest danger. She will have to confront rival covens, and to search far and wide as she follows the trail of clues. It leads her to Hunter, to Benji’s parents, who still live in an ancient castle in Maine, on a remote island. And it leads her back home, to her family and friends, who she will have to confront once again. Her journeys take her into the heart of fraternity parties, and of old houses with hidden secrets and ancient books.
In the meantime, Rob is now a fully turned vampire—and he has never given up his feelings for Rachel. In fact, as a vampire, they are even more intense. He will stop at nothing until he finds her and has her again. Along the way, he will leave a trail of devastation, out of control with his newfound vampire powers and his lust to feed. He will confront Arielle, Rachel’s brother Marc, and even track down her sister Sarah at her dorm room in Syracuse. He will stop at nothing to find Rachel.
But Rachel is on an urgent mission herself, to save Benji, and it may be too late. 5. Awakened
Rachel arrives back in her home in Pennsylvania, and her dad and brother Mark are shocked to see her. She is even more surprised at their reaction: she can’t remember what happened exactly, but she feels sure that she was only away for a single night. Why is everyone acting so crazy, so surprised to see her?

Rachel, not remembering anything else, insists on resuming her normal life. She insists on returning to her old high school in Pennsylvania, where she runs into all of her old friends, who are equally startled to see her. A new love interest arrives in her life, while she tries to shake dreams of strange omens, and of Benji, who she still doesn’t remember. She also tries to fight these strange hunger pangs that are overtaking her.

In the meantime, Rob is as set as ever on finding Rachel, and he crosses the world, wreaking destruction, to get her. Benji, too, is determined to save her, to make her remember their love—while Hunter and Penelope and Matilda are on a mission to find the Waverly Tablet and prevent Violet from conquering the world.

It will be a race to the end while all these forces try to converge on Rachel. But by the time they reach her, she may even be gone herself…

6. Risen

Rob, driven by his love for Rachel, fights to shake off the influence of the dark coven. He will have to fight for Rachel’s love, hoping her loss of memory will also mean she has forgotten her love for Benji.
It will be a race to save Rachel’s life as all these forces converge in an ancient cemetery in New Orleans. But there comes a shocking twist, and by then, it may all even be too late…
