PLOT: ----------- This is a true love story of the largely platonic three-year romance between a prim Texas school teacher and the misanthropic, half-crazy writer of sword and sorcery stories, Robert E. Howard. Beginning in 1933 and done in a low key realistic style that remains close to that of the memoirs of Novalyne Price, the teacher, it is a painful yet strong testament to the power of a woman's love. Though an educator, Price aspires to become a writer herself. Howard was always an odd duck; though fully grown, he lives with his parents and shouts out his stories as he writes them on his typewriter. Most of the townsfolk regard him as a little touched, but Price is intrigued with the work of Howard, the creator of such sexy, violent tales as "Conan the Barbarian," "Red Sonja," and "Solomon Kane," and so engineers a meeting with him. She finds him a fascinating, volatile character. The two begin to date and spend many hours driving around Texas in his convertible. The paradoxically egotistical and insecure Howard does most of the talking, bragging about his ability to create while putting down those writers who try to chronicle real life. Soon Price and Howard become emotionally and intellectually intimate. Howard is moody and often follows periods of intense communication with times of withdrawal and silence. He accepts the things Price freely gives, but seems unwilling or unable to compromise himself or his artistic visions and give much in return. ************************************ - Duration: 1h 46mn - Nominal bit rate: 1495 Kbps - Res: 720 x 304 - AR: 2.35:1 - FPS: 23.976 fps - Audio: AAC, 2 channels, 128Kbps ************************************ General ------------- Format : Matroska Format version : Version 4 / Version 2 File size : 1.20 GiB Duration : 1h 46mn Overall bit rate : 1618 Kbps Encoded date : UTC 2015-08-31 15:31:11 Writing application : mkvmerge v8.3.0 ('Over the Horizon') 64bit Writing library : libebml v1.3.1 + libmatroska v1.4.2 Video ----------- Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Main@L4.1 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 1h 46mn Nominal bit rate : 1495 Kbps Width : 720 pixels Height : 304 pixels Display aspect ratio : 2.35:1 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.285 Writing library : x264 core 142 Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=4 Default : Yes Forced : No Audio -------- Format : AAC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Format profile : LC Codec ID : A_AAC Duration : 1h 46mn Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Title : Stereo Language : English Default : Yes Forced : No Sharing WidgetTrailerScreenshots |
