The Zombies - Begin Here (1965) - Odessey and Oracle (1968)mp3@VBR{1337x}-kawli (Size: 166.23 MB)
DescriptionThe Zombies are an English rock band, formed in 1961 in St Albans and led by Rod Argent, on piano and keyboards, and vocalist Colin Blunstone. The group scored a UK and United States hit in 1964 with "She's Not There". In the USA two further singles, "Tell Her No" and later, in 1968, "Time of the Season", were also successful. After the double-sided hit single "She's Not There" backed with "You Make Me Feel Good" topped the U.S. charts in the fall of 1964, the album “Begin Here” was quickly released in 1965. The dozen tracks were taken from material the Zombies cut for their 1964 UK debut album, Begin Here. Also included are "It's Alright With Me" and "Sometimes" from their self-titled EP. This Japanese remaster was released on CD in 2004. After winning a beat-group competition sponsored by the London Evening News, the Zombies signed to recorded their first hit, "She's Not There" (Argent's second song, written specifically for this session), which was released in mid-1964 and peaked at number 12 in the UK, where it was their only UK Top 40 hit. This minor-key, jazz-tinged number, distinguished by its musicianship and Blunstone's breathy vocal, was unlike anything previously heard in British rock and would become a bona fide classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQNWoprQ9yc The Zombies – Begin Here Tracklist: 01. While the album was received indifferently upon its release, it has since gone on to gain a cult following and become one of the most critically acclaimed albums in history. In retrospect, this album has become one of the most enduring long-players to come out of the entire British psychedelic boom.
