Catherine, per sfuggire alla propria nevrosi, si rifugia nella soffitta dove si abbandona a pratiche autoerotiche davanti a uno specchio nel quale gli appare un fantasma con le sadiche fattezze del tutore. Una notte, lusingandola con la promessa dell'eterna bellezza, il fantasma la convince a entrare nel regno dei morti. Scomparsa Catherine, sarà la figlia Jennifer a prendere il suo posto davanti allo specchio.
