A new series from Sky Sports of one-hour football chat shows presented by Jeff Stelling with a series of considered, nostalgic discussions featuring true legends of the game. When Howard Kendall took over as manager of Everton few could imagine he would guide the club to their most successful era. Famously he was on the brink of the sack in 1984, but for a late Adrian Heath's late goal against Oxford saved them in the FA Cup, he took the club on to the Final beating Watford 2-0. Much of this success was built around a young side moulded under assistant Colin Harvey which Kendall added exprerience with signings - Andy Gray and Peter Reid. In 1984/85 he strengthened again finally put together a team the could challenge and overtake local rivals Liverpool. By the end of the season Everton had won the League Championship and European Cup Winners Cup and were finalists in the FA Cup. What should have been the start of a dynasty vanished with the Heysel Stadium disaster and the subsequent ban of all English clubs from continental football, Everton lost the chance to compete for more European trophies. A large proportion of the title-winning side was broken up following the ban. Kendall himself moved to Athletic Bilbao after the 1987 title triumph and was succeeded by assistant Colin Harvey. Talking about these times an much more are guests Andy Gray, Graeme Sharp and Kevin Sheedy.
