With Amon in control of Republic City, Team Avatar hides, waiting for the United Forces to arrive. When they do, the Equalists show off their new weapon and defeat the United Forces quickly. General Iroh then joins Team Avatar in hiding. Planning their next move, Iroh decides that they must take out the air field to stop the Equalists. Bolin and Asami join General Iroh while Korra and Mako disguise themselves as Eqaulists and sneak onto Air Temple Island. On the island they come across a familiar face and discover the shocking truth about Amon's origins.

episode 12 summary
As dawn comes to Republic City, Team Avatar assembles to stop the Eqalists once and for all. General Iroh, Bolin, and Asami head for the air field where they come face to face with Hiroshi, and Asami must make a difficult decision. Meanwhile, Korra and Mako infiltrate the arena and try to expose Amon as a waterbender. However, Amon ups the game and reveals that he has captured Tenzin and the children. Korra and Mako go on the attack leading to one final battle with Amon. The fate of Republic City and bending hangs in the balance.
