About This Game
Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight, and Zoya the Thief have slowly come to the conclusion that having their lives commandeered by a powerful magical artifact is not a desirable state of existence on a permanent basis.
The heroes try to return their extraordinary gifts to the Artifact called Trine, and so they meddle with powers beyond their understanding. Trine shatters. With a literally heartless ancient sorcerer on the loose, and only a broken artifact to guide them, the heroes must try and repair the damage they've caused... or the damage that might yet be done.
What the developers have to say:Why Early Access?“Trine 3 is our first move towards 3D-gameplay in the Trine series, so we wanted to get in touch with our player-base in an early enough phase to collect feedback on the new gameplay features, so we can tweak those into the right direction. Early Access can hopefully provide us with lots of players willing to do this.”Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?“We hope to officially launch the game during/after summer 2015 – so Early Access will last approximately a few months.”How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?“The Early Access version will have the first two maps playable at launch, and the full version will be significantly longer. We hope to achieve at least 6-7 hours of total playable content for a first-time player with the full version. The full version aims to have properly working online-co-op, the level editor and special challenge levels in addition to the levels that are connected to the background story of the game. Upon release, the game should also run significantly faster and have better overall performance after we’ve optimized it more extensively, once we have more feedback from a wider range of hardware. In short: much more playable content, better performance.”What is the current state of the Early Access version?“Currently the Early Access version includes the first two levels of the game, and those can be played through in single-player mode, as well as local co-op. Online co-op is included, but is not yet bug-free and will have some problems. All playable characters – The Thief, the Wizard and the Knight are included along with their basic abilities. Overall, there are still many features that need tweaking and polishing. The Early Access version is initially available for Windows only, and works with Keyboard + Mouse or with a Controller. The game is still a bit performance-heavy so framerate issues may occur, depending on hardware setups.”Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?“The Early Access version will be priced slightly lower than for the official release.”How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?“We want to listen to community feedback on the gameplay features, and hope to include them in deciding on things like balancing of the different character’s abilities, how the controls work and so on.Also we’d love for people to get involved with the Level Editor early on with Trine 3 this time around (compared to adding the Level Editor to Trine 2 three years after the game’s original release) and wish to closely communicate with players on the development of the public editor to make it as accessible and easy-to-use as possible.”
Just setup and play.
