All That You Can't Leave Behind is the tenth studio album by rock band U2. It was released on 30 October 2000 by Island Records in the United Kingdom and Interscope Records in the United States. Following the mixed reception to their 1997 album, Pop, All That You Can't Leave Behind represented a return to a more conventional sound for the band after they experimented with alternative rock and dance music in the 1990s. At the time of the album's release, U2 said on a number of occasions that they were "reapplying for the job ... [of] the best band in the world". U2 brought back producers Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois who had produced a number of the band's previous albums. The album was originally named "U2000", which was a working title for their past PopMart Tour.


All That You Can't Leave Behind received wide critical acclaim and sold over 12 million copies. The songs "Beautiful Day", "Walk On", "Elevation", and "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" were all successful singles. The record and its songs won seven Grammy Awards; it is the only album in history to have multiple tracks win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year: "Beautiful Day" in 2001 and "Walk On" in 2002. In 2003, the album was ranked number 139 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time", but it was pushed back to 280 in 2012.

All That You Can't Leave Behind è il decimo album degli U2, pubblicato il 30 ottobre 2000. Il disco ha venduto più di 12 milioni di copie. È stato inserito dalla rivista Rolling Stone al 139º posto tra i 500 migliori album di sempre.

Questo album è stato definito una sorta di ritorno alle origini da parte degli U2: il loro stile, infatti, ritorna ad essere più simile allo stile precedente all'album Achtung Baby.

Sicuramente degni di menzione i singoli Beautiful Day e Walk On (quest'ultima soprattutto nella versione dal vivo, brano tra l'altro dedicato ad Aung San Suu Kyi, politica birmana che si batte per i diritti civili del suo popolo) ma anche Kite, New York e Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of (canzone dedicata a Michael Hutchence, cantante degli INXS, morto suicida tre anni prima). Elevation fu la colonna sonora del film Tomb Raider.

All That You Can't Leave Behind fu premiato con un Grammy Award nella categoria "Best Rock Album" nel 2001.

Il tour mondiale denominato Elevation Tour registra il "tutto esaurito" in ogni località e fa segnare numerosi record nelle vendite dei biglietti. In 113 show, tra Stati Uniti ed Europa, l'incasso totale sarà di 143.000.000 di dollari con una affluenza di 2.300.000 spettatori.

Degne di nota sono le tappe di Dublino allo Slane Castle, che hanno tra l'altro dato origine al DVD musicale U2 Go Home, e la performance italiana allo Stadio delle Alpi di Torino datata 21 luglio 2001.
