ULTIMATE MAHJONG MAHJONGG MAH JONG 101 GAMES MEGA-PACK BY MIK_IN_BRAZIL

This is the ultimate pack for all Mahjong players, amateurs, lovers, newbies, rookies and masters. Included in this torrent you will find 101 Mahjong games, from old-time favourites to the most up-to-date games just published [torrent up-to-date to August 10th, 2014].

Contrary to all other packs available anywhere, this pack comes with 101 games already pre-installed: you just have to unzip the compressed arquive and click on any of the supplied game shortcuts to begin to play right away! No time lost installing one game at a time, no hassle with untidy installer programs trying to modify your computer's settings, browser's homepages, installation of unasked toolbars, unncessary entries in your .ini files or adding unncessary keys to your Windows registry. And because there are no installers and/or uninstallers, when you do not want the game anymore you simply delete its associated folder and shortcut manually and you are done. Simple as that. What else can you ask of in a nice and decent torrent such as this one ? In two words:

DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS !!!

After you finish downloading the compressed arquive you must unzip it [as it is a .7Z file, I recommend you use the open-source freeware program 7-Zip to unzip it, program available both as a 32-bit version and as a 64-bit version at its publisher website http://www.7-zip.org/ ]. As there is no installer to these pre-installed games you do not have (and should not) turn off your antivirus/antispyware during the extraction of the compressed file.

If you want the extra functionality afforded by the games' shortcuts already included on the torrent (so that you do not need to make your own shortcut for each and every game) you must unzip the compressed arquive to the root of your hard drive "D" [ there is to D: ].

As I am sure YOU yourself are a very NICE person, after you finish downloading it, do not move the compressed arquive of the torrent: simply leave it where your torrent manager downloaded it to and choose "Extract to ..." and navigate to the root of your Drive "D:" to choose where to extract the files. This way you can keep seeding the torrent without having to do a thing!

If you prefer to unzip it to another location and/or if your computer have only one partition [C:], after unzipping you will have to manually edit the properties of each and every shortcut provided to point to the right location where the games will be.

When you unzip it to the root of your hard drive "D", two main folders will be created:

A) The first one will be the folder "D:GamesMahjong" and inside it, there will be all the pre-installed games, each one on its own sub-folder and sorted as a logical tree to facilitate your navigation.

B) The second folder that will be created is called "D:Shortcuts". Here you will find one sub-folder called "Mahjong Games".

- Open your Windows Explorer, highlight this "Mahjong Games" folder and press "Ctrl C" to cut it.

- Now right-click on the Windows Start Menu orb (which is that round big thing with the Windows symbol located on low left corner of your screen) and select "Open All Users", which will open a new Windows Explorer with "Start Menu" highlighted.

- Highlight the item called "Programs", right-click on it and from the pull-down menu choose "paste".

- Close both sessions of the Windows Explorer and now left-click on the Start Menu and, if you did everything right, you will see a new entry to the Start Menu called "Mahjong Games".

- Test it by clicking on your "Start Menu" and navigating to any Mahjong game shortcut and clicking it to open that specific game and your game should load.

If, instead of opening the game you chose, a message appears saying something about a "missing link", it will mean YOU did something wrong somewhere: in this case I suggest you print these instructions and follow very carefully and to the letter each step, so that you can find where you did it wrong.

ADDITIONAL TIPS:

I suggest that you install (if you already do not have it installed) a freeware Firewall Program called ZoneAlarm ( available only as a 32-bit program from its publisher here http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm ). The reason for that suggestion is that ZoneAlarm is not only a good Firewall (contrary to the crap that comes installed with Windows), able not only to block undesired Internet traffic to and from your computer but also functioning to control the kind of access any installed program on your computer will have to the privileged resources in your machine (which adds an extra layer of peace of mind when you install any program that you cannot absolutely vouch for). After you unzip your games as per above instructions simply run sequentially each game to test it and to allow its .exe to be added to the ZoneAlarm library. Then you close the game, open the ZoneAlarm interface, click on "View Details" of the Firewall panel, click the link under "Application Control" called "xxx Programs Secured" where the xxx represents the number of programs on your computer which were added to the ZoneAlarm library, select "View Programs", find the .exe associated with the game you have just ran and modify its settings to: Trust Level >> Restricted, Outbound Trusted >> deny, Outbound Internet >> deny, Inbound Trusted >> deny and Inbound Internet >> deny. Close the ZoneAlarm interface and open the game again. If the game now fails to run, open the ZoneAlarm interface again and choose Trust Level >> Ask. Close the ZoneAlarm interface and run the game: now your game will run (and I do not know why but ZoneAlarm will not ask you when you later open the game: weird but that is the way it is). You should repeat the whole process over and over again for all your games and you can also extend the same process to include other programs installed in your computer for which you want to Keep a minimun amount of control and/or block its access to the Internet.
TWO IMPORTANTS THINGS about ZoneAlarm (and which are not 'simple details') are: a) you ought to carefully choose "skip all offers" when you are installing the program (otherwise it will try to install many 'special offers', all of which are a lot of worthless crap) and b) after you finish installing it, you must reboot your machine (although it does not say it when the installation finishes) and after reboot go straight to your Control Panel, choose "Uninstall Program" and uninstall the ZoneAlarm toolbar that was installed as a default along with the main program.

All the pre-installed games do run smoothly on the game-specific PC I trimmed to run games for my mom. So, if any of these game fails to run on your machine, you may try to emulate as close as possible her trimmed specs, which are:
- Windows Vista Home Premium SP-2 32-bit in English with NO WINDOWS UPDATES whatsoever;
- Windows language settings configured to "English International" so that it can properly show non-standard non-English letters such as "ç", "à", "ã", "é", "ê", etc.
- 2 GB RAM memory;
- DirectX 10 (comes pre-installed with Windows Vista), DirectX 11 and DirectX 9c SDK / End User Runtime (installed AFTER DirectX 11);
- Windows .NET Framework v. 2.0 & 3.0 (comes pre-installed with Windows Vista), v. 1.1, v. 3.5 SP-1, v. 3.5.3, v. 4.0 and v. 4.5.2;
- Adobe Flash Player v. 11;
- OpenAL (oalinst.exe with OpenAL32.dll installed on the System32 folder of Windows).
- Visual C++: 2005 SP1, 2005 SP1 MFC Security Update, 2008, 2008 SP-1, 2008 SP-1 MFC Security Update, 2010, 2010 SP1, 2010 SP1 MFC Security Update, 2012 and 2013 (installed on the EXACT ORDER GIVEN and with a reboot between after EACH installation).
- NVidia PhysX (the video card installed on my mom's is a NVidia GMA 3100 but various reputable sources suggest that PhysX works with other video-card vendors !!!).

The most common error that people will encounter is trying to extract the compressed arquives to a long, loooong path instead of using the suggested path "D:". With long paths you can easily exceed 256 characters in length for the path of some files and in this case Windows will not be able to access these files and that game will crash.

One last thing: if you enjoy these Mahjong games and appreciate all the effort it took me to bring them to YOU, please consider carefully keeping seeding the torrent for years to come so that your friends and other nice people out there may also enjoy it (as I must stop seeding it the day my vacation ends and I go back home to my farm where there is no Internet, no phones and no electricity other than my own Honda generator). After all, if you play the games, pass your time and have a lot of fun for years to come at my expense and and do not seed my work, I will have all the reason in the world to consider YOU as just another LEECHER and that is not a nice thing to say about a nice person such as yourself, right? See you by July/August 2015 with more to share.
