Mysterious and melancholic movie about an otherworldly humanoid being that assumes human female form and seduces young men for harvesting. The setting is wintertime in Scotland, and there are many scenes of poignant sadness. The pacing is slow with no quick, flashy cuts or edits. Much of the film seems like a metaphor for interpersonal relations between men and women.
Scarlett Johansson gives an outstanding and haunting performance. The movie is highly recommended for her work alone.
