Description

This all started, like many things in the world of music, with Bob Dylan. I had got into his album, Shadows in The Night, and decided I’d like to hear Frank’s versions of these songs, since Bob had used them as his blueprints, listening to Frank’s version of a song, then singing it live with his little band. These 1940s and 50s songs stand up to anything in their genre. To my pleasant surprise, they sat well with Tom Waits, Emmylou Harris, Akina Nakamori and other performers.
