Super Hits is a Sony repackaging of their vault of prior hits of Van Morrison, sadly this album, unlike most repackage albums, only contains one hit, "Brown Eyed Girl", as Sony did not want to license material from Reprise or Mercury. As a result this album is pretty much for serious collectors only.

George Ivan "Van" Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and musician. His live performances at their best are described as mystical and transcendental, while some of his recordings, such as the studio albums Astral Weeks and Moondance and the live album It's Too Late to Stop Now, are critically acclaimed.

Morrison received two civil awards in 1996, firstly the Order of the British Empire for his service to music, secondly an award from the French government which made him an Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 1998.
