Giulio Berruti's unusual cult horror film casts former sex symbol Anita Ekberg as Sister Gertrude, a nun working in a mental institution. Gertrude is clearly insane, and takes a great deal of morphine for her self-diagnosed cancer. She goes to town and picks up men, seduces a younger nun (Paola Morra) who was abused by her grandfather, and supposedly murders patients until the Mother Superior (Alida Valli) has her poisoned.
Luigi Casellato appears as a crippled painter who gets kicked to death, and genre favorite Joe Dallesandro leads the supporting cast as a handsome doctor. Antonio Maccoppi's skillful cinematography gives the film a harsh, intimidating look and Ekberg creates a sympathetic character, although certain scenes, such as her stepping on a patient's dentures, cross the line into unintentional humor.

Mari Collingwood (Sandra Cassel) plans to celebrate her 17th birthday by attending a concert with her friend, Phyllis Stone (Lucy Grantham). Her parents (Richard Towers and Cynthia Carr) express concern both at the band and Mari's friendship with Phyllis. They let her go, giving her a peace symbol necklace as a gift before she leaves.
Phyllis and Mari go to the city for the concert. On the way, they hear a news report on the car radio of a recent prison escape, involving criminals Krug Stillo (David A. Hess), a rapist and serial killer, his son Junior (Marc Sheffler), Sadie (Jeramie Rain), a psychopath and sadist, and Fred "Weasel" Podowski (Fred Lincoln) a child molester, peeping tom, and murderer. Before the concert, Mari and Phyllis stroll the streets, seeking someone who might sell them marijuana. They find Junior, who leads them back to an apartment, where they are immediately trapped by the criminals. Phyllis tries to escape, then tries to reason with the criminals to let her go, but their captors subdue her.
Meanwhile, Mari's unsuspecting parents prepare a surprise party for her.

The Last House on the Left was a morally bankrupt but highly profitable film about rape, murder, and revenge. The 1978 sequel, The New House on the Left, may even be more reprehensible than the original. Whereas the murder site of the first film was a remote house, the scene of the crime in the sequel is a train (thereby negating the title).
Laura and Margaret (played by the divine Irene Miracle of Argento's INFERNO) are two college students traveling to stay with Laura's family for their Christmas holiday. They board an overcrowded train, but switch to another one when a bomb scare causes a delay. Thinking they are safely en route to a happy holiday, little do they know they have been followed. Joining them on their new vehicle are Blackie and Curly, a pair of psychotic criminals (who were seem in the opening credits robbing and stabbing a sidewalk Santa to death), and their nameless rich lady friend, who indulges in sexual games with Blackie at every opportunity.
At first the trio join them in their quaint early Christmas dinner of sandwiches, but soon things become a little too eerie when the Lady tries to draw the young girls into her perverted world. Curly slices off some of Laura's hair and sniffs it voraciously, they are forced at knifepoint to watch the Lady and Blackie have sex in their darkened compartment, are repeatedly punched and beaten and even worse... Laura is given the brunt of the torture, forced to give Curly a handjob and take off her panties to expose herself to the three. To make matters more perverse, a passer-by falls into the room.Margaret flees from the compartment and jumps to her death from a bathroom window. But the culprits will get theirs when they are taken home by Laura's parents and their heinous deeds are discovered.
This film includes more murders, and more revenge than the original,and, undoubtedly, more cash lining the pockets of the producers.

When state officials test out a new experimental pest-control device that uses subsonic waves to kill insects, it produces an unwelcome but interesting side-effect: the noise is enough to wake the dead, literally, and the corpses of the recently deceased begin to rise from their dirt-naps with ravenous appetites for warm human flesh.
Since the predicted zombie jubilee starts off with more than a whimper than a bang (actually it's more of a wheeze, since these are particularly asthmatic undead), viewers are left with a rather mundane police drama as clueless detectives try to pin the mutilation murders on a group of free-wheeling hippies.
Despite high production values and some audacious gore effects by Giannetto De Rossi (who would later lend his splattery talents to Lucio Fulci's Zombie and many more Italian zombie films), this Spanish/Italian co-production falters in the middle thanks to sluggish pacing and dull investigation scenes, which are devoid of suspense since the zombies' existence is already made known.
