Host multiple websites on your Mac
***************************************************

VirtualHostX lets you enable the web service already present on your Mac, and it allows you to create multiple virtual hosts as well. That way, you can create and test more than one website at a time right from your Mac. Even better, there’s a service called LiftOff that lets you share these virtual websites with other people, notifying them of the location with a simple email. No more nesting folders and no more asking the programmer across the cubicle for help. With VirtualHostX you can easily create and manage your virtual hosts with just a few clicks. We do the hard work so you don’t have to.

What it Does
• Automatically configures your Mac’s web server settings.
• Works with MAMP, XAMPP, and Apple’s built-in web server.
• Share your virtual hosts with anyone over the internet.
• Backup and Restore your web server settings.
• Keep track of domain names, logins, and everything else with Domain Details.

Version 7.1.6:
• Fixed: By default, your website files are now assigned to user “vagrant” and group “www-data” so that Apache has permission to modify them. This is particularly important for all of you WordPress (and other CMS) users.
• Additional fixes for properly reconnecting to the virtual machine after powering on or restarting the vm.

Version 7.1.4:
• Adds a new option for defining a web root directory that is different from your local path directory
• Fixed two crashes
• Misc bug fixes

Version 7.1.2:
• Fixes a crasher when VHX drops its SSH connection to the virtual machine
• Fixes a small crasher that occurred when using AutoRefresh
• Renamed “Restart” to “Reload” to be more consistent with Vagrant’s vocabulary
• We no longer always provision the vm when restarting. This will speed up reboot times
• Fixes a bug where VirtualBox wasn’t used if VMWare or Parallels are installed
