You are correct. This package protects your system with many option, see the web site and or description. The main one of use is DNS leaking. A nice feature as well is if say you were torrenting something consider illegal in your country and the vpn fails, windoze will drop back to the default ip and dns of you provider. This leaves you open to scrutiny by whoever see it "naked" VPNcheck will kill the connection and stop the client as well as any other programs you tell it to do.
