We Slay Monsters v0.9.24 -Early Access

We Slay Monsters streamlines traditional roguelike RPG gameplay and introduces a unique poker-esque card based combat mechanic. Each class (Wizard, Rogue, Warrior, or Cleric) has a unique deck of cards; using this deck you will guide your hero through the dungeon. Each dungeon is designed to play in short bursts, with a single dungeon taking 15-25 minutes to complete (or even less if your hero dies).

The Academy For Dungeoneering

In We Slay Monsters, the player is tasked with the rebuilding of the once prestigious Academy For Dungeoneering, famous for training generations of heroes, but long since fallen into disrepair.

The Academy is your persistent base that can be upgraded over time with gold earned by performing successful quests for nearby towns. Heroes may die, but your Academy lives on.

Features
Poker-esque card-based combat mechanic. Most hands that would be valid in poker are valid here, except the deck is made up of six suits instead of four, with face values from 1-9 instead of Ace-King. Flushes can be made with only three of the same suit, and any flush results in a super attack. Each suit has a unique attack ability.
Campaign against the Institute of Evil. The final game will have a campaign where you square off against the Institute of Evil, a rival school responsible for training evil beasts and strange bosses to take over the world.
Endless supply of recruits. Permadeath means a hero might die, but your Academy has an endless supply of new recruits willing to risk all for fame and fortune.
Over 35 monsters which can be unlocked. Each monster has unique abilities, and monsters are unlocked over time as you complete quests.

v0.9.24: Features: • Added New Badges for finishing A Quest with A character That is Under Level 10. • Added New Badges for finishing A Dungeon That has Been Previously Lost Several Times. • Choose Arena Missions now 4-5 up monsters FRONT to include in the waves of monsters Attack That the Player. UI Tweaks: • Gold animation has Been "Smoothed" That so does not Extra gold Show All at once up at the end of the animation. • Teleport and Bullrush CAN now be Cancelled if They are Chosen inadvertently. • Tooltips have Been Added to describe the Items on the summary screen win. • Tooltips have Been Added for towns on the main map. • A new animation has Been Added When monsters drop loot A bag. Bug Fixes: • Pets That Will die no longer be Added as trophies (WAS Causing an exception to be Thrown in the background). • Fixed some keyboard commands Cases WHERE Would stop working. • Properly Shows Riposte now as A buff on the character rather than Sheet A debuff. • If space or ESC has Been USED to make the Score Card screen render faster, it Properly Will reset the next Game is That Played. • The hall of Records Remains closed, it no longer But Overlaps with Other houses in the academy. • Monster tooltips no longer Should Show up underneath Other UI Elements. • Monsters Should no longer Run off the end of the new win screen. • "Overcautious" badge Will no longer be Awarded if the hero has no Abilities to start with. Miscellaneous: • Added sounds for: Pet puppy's buff, Pet puppy dying, fat Pet Bird Screech debuff Attack, Pet Bird fat dying, dying Pet Kitten, A Treasure Searching bag, super monster Slam Ability, Ability Pounce monster, teleport, Summon Card • New Flourish A Quest for winning or arena. • New Player Healing sound. • Winning an arena now Will Show the celebration animations, and Open up A new arena map.
