ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Wilbur Smith was born in Central Africa in 1933. He was educated at Michaelhouse and Rhodes University. He became a full-time writer in 1964 after the successful publication of When The Lion Feeds, and has since written more than thirty novels, all meticulously researched on his numerous expeditions worldwide. His books are now translated into twenty-six languages.
Wilbur Smith lives in London and continues to have an abiding concern for the peoples and wildlife of his native continent, an interest strongly reflected in his novels.


Giles Kristian was born in Leicestershire (1975) whose mother was Norwegian and his father, English. During the 90s he was lead singer of pop group Upside Down, achieving four top twenty hit records. As a singer songwriter he lived and toured for two years in Europe and has made music videos all over the world. To fund his writing habit he has worked as a model, appearing in TV commercials and ads for the likes of Walls Ice Cream (he was the Magnum Man) Canon cameras and two brands of lager! He has been an advertising copywriter and lived for two and a half years in New York and working on his first novel. In 2008 Giles saw the release of Raven: Blood Eye, the first in a three-part historical adventure series.


ABOUT THE READER
Sean Barrett was born May 4, 1940 in Hampstead, London and began his acting career as a child for the BBC and has since made numerous television appearances including roles in Z Cars, Minder, Tales of the Unexpected and Father Ted. He played alongside Noel Coward in the West End and has had film parts in War and Peace, Dunkirk and Sons and Lovers. Sean Barrett is fast becoming the contemporary voice of Samuel Beckett on audiobook. After decades of proving himself one of the most versatile of London-based readers – despite a natural Irish accent – with a range of books from Jack Higgins and William Trevor to Robert Graves and Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose, Barrett has turned to Beckett.
