Will and Grace [HEVC x265 H.265]

(Complete, Seasons 1-8)

Will and Grace (Complete, Seasons 1-8) has been encoded in x265 HEVC to reduce file size while maintaining high quality video. This is a complete series torrent with all episodes and all seasons.

X265 (aka H.265 or HEVC) is a new and extremely efficient video compression technology. HEVC stands for "High Efficiency Video Codec" and best describes this new codec. The improvements of x265/HEVC compared to its predecessor x264 are dramatic. With this new codec I was able to reduce all 8 seasons of Will and Grace from 37.15GB to 13.66GB with virtually no loss of quality. Actually, I think in some cases the quality is a bit better due to improvements in artifact filtering techniques that have been implemented in the 5 years since my source files were encoded.

Oddly, NBCUniversal has never released Will & Grace on Blu-ray so all there is to work with are the standard definition DVDrips that have been floating around for years. At least with HEVC we can reduce the file size and maintain DVD like quality.

Note: The only catch to these tiny yet high quality files is CPU demand and player support. If you have an ancient computer or your goal is to put a H.265 video on an iPhone 4 or something you're probably going to run in to trouble. VLC uses about 40% of one processor core on my system (MacBook Pro 2011 Core i7) to playback these files. You'll need an updated modern media player to play these files such as VLC. Many players like Quicktime and even the PS4 do not yet support H.265/x265.
