Brixton heavyweight Danny Williams defends his British Heavyweight Title against Big Bad John McDermott in what promises to be one of the hardest hitting heavyweight bouts of 2008.

Inconsistency has dogged Danny Williams for most of his career with 3 of his 6 defeats coming in rematches against fighters he beat 'easily' first time round. Self confidence has always been an issue for Danny however after being K.O.'d in dramatic style against Audley Harrison in 2006 the Brixton Bomber has quietly boxed himself into world title contention. An impressive performance against John McDermott is a must.

Big Bad John picked up the vacant English Heavyweight title 3 months ago with the powerful destruction of veteran Pele Reid. McDermott has already sniffed at the British title when he met defending champion Matt Skelton in 2005. McDermott however suffered stage fright and was put away by Skelton in the first round.

Promoter Frank Maloney is confident that the winner of tonights bout will face off against the winner of Samuel Peter Vs. Vitali Klitschko within the next 12 months. With so much pressure on 2 fighters that have a history of imploding when the heat is on, this bout promises to very interesting.
