A world champion at featherweight and junior lightweight, the 35-year-old Mexico City native made an immediate impact at lightweight on September 13, 2008 when he became the first man to stop Cuban great Joel Casamayor.

His opponent, 25-year old Juan "The Baby Bull" Diaz (34-1, 17 KO's), has built a reputation as one of the fight game's most exciting young stars during his eight-year career. The three-time World Lightweight Champion has already defended his crown seven times, beating the likes of Julio Diaz along the way. His last bout, in front of his hometown fans at the Toyota Centre, saw Diaz come away with a dominant 12 round decision win over Australian Michael Katsidis.
