World in Conflict is a real-time strategy developed by the Swedish company Massive Entertainment and published by Sierra Entertainment in 2007 for PC and Xbox 360.

The game is set in 1989, where the Soviet Union instead of falling decide to start World War III. His first move is to invade Europe, but NATO forces stop the advance achieved albeit with great difficulty. But the picture gives a drastic change when Russia decides to invade the United States, what Europe would lose its main ally and the war would preferring the Soviet victory. The invasion begins in the city of Seattle, where the Russian army, hidden in false cargo ships, bends the city in one day. US forces were forced to retreat before the forces inferiority, because the bulk of the army is in Europe. From this first attack entire campaign will be developed and raccontos references to past events earlier in Europe and the United States.

The player can control in campaign mode to Armies of the United States as a conglomerate of European NATO nations (UK, Italy, France, West Germany). In multiplayer mode you can also control the Soviet army.
Its main feature is the extraordinary graphics engine that even with low-end computers achieves effects of explosion and details never seen in the world of strategy. Besides greatly innovate in multiplayer mode, where players no longer control whole armies, but a battalion (artillery, cavalry, infantry and air) of a common army is making up the battalions of the other players on the same side.
The PC version was released in September 2007, and the Xbox 360 in early 2008.

Later, in 2008, it was released the expansion Soviet Assault, which adds six new missions to the game and enter the Soviet side characters with which these missions are played. Overall, the original game and the expansion, the player gets an intensely cinematic experience that tracks the history of all the characters like a movie. Soviet Assault has virtually the same graphics as the original, can take advantage of new units but with a performance nearly equal.
