It's your basic 80's teen comedy. How can you identify this unique sub-genre? Look for a movie with a good brunette and an evil/bad girl blonde.

Scatman Crothers was probably embarrassed to list this on his resume, but Christopher Aames is actually kinda funny in a few spots: he does a decent Groucho impersonation near the end.

Baio and Schacter have some decent chemistry, and for some odd reason I really like the music. Other then that, it's pretty much a guilty pleasure.

On the surface this is a typical 80's teen movie, but with a twist. Scott Baio Plays the role Barney Springboro. A misunderstood teen scientist with dreams of inventing something big.

Well do to a comedy of errors, something he is working on explodes. Thus giving him telekinetic powers. Guided by the help of his so called best friend, Peyton Nichols (Willie Aames) he begins using his powers to gamble. This upsets his newly found girlfriend Bernadette (Felice Schachter). After some much needed thought, he realizes his powers can be used for much more interesting things.

Heather Thomas plays the "hot" chick, Jane Mitchell. The girl all the guys follow around with the mouths watering.

This movie has a much over looked soundtrack with some great songs by David Pomeranz.

*Movie does contatin a lot of nudity, as did many 80's movies.*

Please excuse my excessive fawning, but I would nominate "Zapped" for Movie of the Year, if I weren't nearly 20 years too late. Like thousands of American men, I first got hipped to the one-two comedy punch of Aames and Baio back in college when I briefly experimented with reruns of the hit comedy programme "Charles in Charge." I had heard about it when it during its prime-time run in the 1980's, but I was too square to check it out at the time. After the first episode "CiC" (which, by the way, was set in MY college town of New Brunswick, NJ!), I was hooked - and it's a habit that always needs a little more each time.

Fortunately, "Zapped" delivers! I swear, you can watch this movie over and over and over, and you'll always catch something that you missed before. Like when Chachi and Lembeck use their psychic powers to get the girls. It's so funny because it's true! I worked on a similar project when I was in college, but the best that I could do was create a dream woman out of newspaper clippings (just kidding!!!). Also, Scatman Crothers gives the performance of his lifetime as Dexter Jones, remeniscent of his earlier portrayal of Dewey Stevens on "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island" of the year before. I think everyone should go out and rent - no, make that BUY -a copy of "Zapped" today - trust me, your life will never be the same!

# According to the press kit, on the first take of the sweater popping scene, Heather Thomas was pulled to the ground.

# The movie poster artist was Michael Backus. He was paid $5,000. The artist's signature appears on the "Zapped!" poster as (1) An 'MJB' monogram on Baio's pink polo shirt (2) a 'Backus' signature on the Gilbert Stewart Geo Washington portrait and (3) 'Backus' on the ruler flying through the air. It was his first commercial assignment and it launched Backus Studios.

# The movie ad received complaints from Los Angeles Times readers, not because of what the readers could see but because the illustrated boy characters could see up the skirt of the illustrated girl character. A modified movie ad was run in the Los Angeles Times with the illustrated girl's character's modesty protected by a lower skirt from the illustrated boy characters. America was once again safe from depravity.
