Description
Zotero is a powerful, easy-to-use research tool that helps you gather, organize, and analyze sources and then share the results of your research.
Zotero is the only research tool that automatically senses content in your web browser, allowing you to add it to your personal library with a single click. Whether you're searching for a preprint on arXiv.org, a journal article from JSTOR, a news story from the New York Times, or a book from your university library catalog, Zotero has you covered with support for thousands of sites. Zotero helps you put the references (bibliography) of your projects (assignments - papers -dissertations) in your word file that you work on. More specifically, for the Zotero to work there are 2 ways. In both ways you have to install a plug-in in your Microsoft-Office (word) [That's the zotero.dot file]. Search in the net to find out how to do this. Now, depending on the browser you are using you can either install the standalone version of Zotero [that is the Zotero-4.0.11_setup.exe file] (hereafter referred as ST-Zotero) or not. If you are using Firefox things are simple. You only have to go to the home page of Zotero and just add the plug-in to the browser. To install the ST-Zotero will be an "overkill" (or else redundant). Nevertheless you can do it. Now if you use any other browser (like Chrome) then you must install the ST-Zotero. Unlike Firefox, which includes a separate button down to the right of the window, and as you press it reveals the Zotero library; in the cases of the other browsers you must install the ST-Zotero to access the library. Of course, you must also go to the Zotero’s home to add the plug-in to your browser as well. After all the above are complete and installed properly, then an icon will appear at the extreme right of the url in the browser when an article – book – etc is viewed. Note that zotero does not always identify the viewed items that you might be interested. In these cases you must add them in your library manual. Hope the above description helps..
