DCI Sue Craven is a Manchester detective, working on the Murder Investigation Team, and whose personal life, is she says herself, "complicated".

Across the 6 series (so far) that the Beeb have produced, she has to tackle issues such as internet bullying, racial hatred and human trafficking, as well as at least one case that comes all too close to her own police colleagues.
