El Norte is about the terrible consequences for those involved in cross border immigration outside of normal channels. It is a tragic story with a sad ending in fact. My own brother in law is from Chile and I can tell you he is in particular, one of the finest men I have ever encountered.



There should always be a legal way for those that can contribute here in a way that makes them great additions to the family to make their efforts pay, rather than see them fail so miserably as we see in scenes in this movie that is often hard to take in to your humane sense of fairness and justice for all concerned in this movie.
