Description
Geoff Hamilton Gardeners' World Collection Geoff Hamilton was undoubtedly Britain's most popular gardener, with his blend of down-to-earth practical advice, moneysaving ideas and sheer enthusiasm for everything to do with gardening. During the 1980s and '90s his own garden in Rutland, Barnsdale, became almost as familiar to the millions of TV viewers who tuned in to BBC 2's Gardeners' World each week as their own back yard. Geoff died of a heart attack in August 1996 while taking part in a charity bike ride. This collection brings together all his Gardeners' World programmes that I can find on the 'net, plus transfers from my own old, home-recorded VHS tapes. They have never been released by the BBC, so are all that we have at the moment (2015). Geoff's last programme is included, recorded only a couple of days before he died, as is a tribute programme aired the following week. Most of the videos are complete episodes, with one or two split into multiple parts. I've also included a few that are incomplete, since for Geoff's fans they are still worth watching. The video and sound quality is very variable. Before digital broadcasting viewers saved everything to VHS tape, and some of the transfers are better than others. The file format is either H.264 video and AAC audio in an .mp4 file, or Xvid video and .mp3 audio in an .avi file.
