Little Charlie and the Nightcats sont, depuis leur début, sur le prestigieux label Alligator , les spécialistes du west coast jump Blues ne changent pas de style dans cette dernière production sortie en 1998. On retrouve le brillant Charly Baty à la guitare, accompagné de l'excellent Rick Estrin à l'harmonica, ils nous distillent un Blues bourré d'imagination et d'énergie. "Shadow of the Blues" est un très bel album, qui retient l'attention dés la première écoute, les accents jazzy et l'audace de certains boogie n'y sont pas étranger.
